Cardiovascular device design – Large and small medical technology companies have already benefited from our unique expertise in the computational analysis of heart disease. Our comprehensive simulations are helping design engineers conquer some of the most challenging cardiovascular device and therapy applications.

Engineering support services focus on medical device design, development and testing. For example, device-tissue interactions are typically complex and require accurate modeling of the device, surrounding tissue and the interactions of both. Such modeling analyses are the specialty of Insilicomed.

Cardiovascular modeling specialists and engineering support staff at Insilicomed can perform mechanical analyses on a wide variety of devices and tissues and their interactions. Mechanical loads on implanted devices and their effects on the surrounding tissue are critically dependent on the accuracy of the model parameters. Modeling these interactions with realistic input parameters and appropriate computational methods is the benefit of using Insilicomed’s services.

Predictive analyses for cardiovascular-device systems can be performed, including changes in global cardiac function function during device use (ventricular pressures, ejection fractions, stroke volumes and cardiac work), stress, strain, force and displacement estimates in tissues and devices, and parametric studies of both device parameters and heart disease severity. These parametric studies in which device parameters can be varied, along with the underlying pathophysiologic state of the cardiovascular system, are very useful for reducing device prototyping and associated animal studies and helping to guide animal and clinical study protocols.
